Finicky with Cat Food

The cats eat Friskies Grillers dry cat food. They have it available to them 24 hours a day with bowls set out for each one.

We fed them wet food for a while but they stopped eating it for several weeks until we bought them the wet equal to the Grillers.

The wet food comes in both 3.3 oz and 11 oz cans. They will NOT eat the food from the 3.3 oz cans ONLY the food from the 11 oz cans. Same food but when they're given food from the small can they sniff it and walk away. One even scratches the ground next to it as if to cover it up.

We can't figure it out. They do like these:

the Stray

November 14, 2014

On a cool evening in November with the front door open and the screen door closed the cats were sitting at it and smelling the outdoors on a rare chance to do so, this "stray" met them on the front porch. He/she "talked" to them: meowing loudly and just sitting there staring at them. It was dark and eventually he went away.

The next morning he came around again and I chased him with my camera.
He protested to being followed but wasn't very agressive.

We haven't seen him again.

Nitenpyram. We found 12 capsules for $14.99 at Little City Dogs http://www.littlecitydogs.com/smallpetfleakiller.html

At other resources and local pet stores  the product was about $30 for six capsules.

We tried to give the drug mixed in wet cat food but they apparently didn't like either the cat food or the "chicken flavored" nitenpyram. However, they did eat a small amount. After thirty minutes they became very excitable and appeared to be very itchy. First one then the other started running around the house bouncing off walls. Maynard leaped about three feet to my shoulders then to Vickie's.

Fleas began to drop off of each of them. After about an hour or two the "speed" effect wore off.
